It was a tough battle from the off, with Trent Vale coming out strong. Our defense soon found their feat however, with Mel, Chris, Ginnie and Lisa performing some excellence clearance and pushing back at Trent with confidence. Towards half time we were looking strong and began to dominate play more. Liv, Rach, Shireen, Bex and Ellie battled hard in the middle and managed to keep the ball high, leading to some exciting play around Trent’s D.
The second half saw more excellent stick skills from Liv and Lisa, running rings around their mid fielders at times. The game saw many excellent saves from Kaz, including a rather impressive glove save, and Lisa certainly got her steps in today… pretty sure there isn’t an inch of that pitch she didn’t venture into!
As always, the score does not reflect the effort from our 11 today, and Trent Vale walked away 5:0.
Despite the score, the team enjoyed a hearty pub lunch together after and reflected on the match. It was here that we awarded Olivia our prestigious Lass of the Grass award this week!
