In the last game of the season, Worksop 1’s travelled to 3rd place Newark, knowing a win would mean promotion, but defeat would hand promotion to Newark. With so much at stake, it was not surprising that the first half was a tight affair, with Worksop shading it on goal chances created.

The second half began with a momentum shift, with Newark gaining several penalty corners, but Worksop have the best defensive record in the league, and despite Newarks pressure, Worksop cleared corner after corner.With the game entering the final 10 minutes, the ball broke to Worksop’s captain Tracy, who fired the ball forward to Chloe, who ran past Newarks goalkeeper to score her 29th goal of the campaign. With time running out, Worksop controlled the possession calmly, seeing the remaining time out. With the win, Worksop finished the season in second place , having only lost once this season. The player of the match went to sweeper Rebecca.
