Worksop 1’s faced West Bridgeford 3’s in a lunchtime pushback. With Worksop second in the league and their opponents in the bottom half of the league, it appeared a straightforward fixture for Worksop. Aware of this Worksop captain Tracy Steeple challenged her team to be ruthless, and Worksop didn’t disappoint. From minute one, Worksop refused to let West Bridgeford out of their own half. The only surprise was that it took 20 minutes for Gemma Matthews to open the scoring. Followed quickly by a second from Gemma Matthews and a third from Joanne Robinson.

The second half brought no relief for West Bridgeford, as Worksop continued to press for more goals, and they didn’t have to wait long, with two quick fire goals from top scorer Chloe Gilpin, and despite some excellent saves from West Bridgeford goalie Worksop added a sixth through Joanne Bochenski. The player of the match went to Gemma Matthews.
