Worksop 1’s travelled to unbeaten table topping Notts Uni, with just eleven players , Worksop knew they were in for a tough game. Notts Uni had decided to gamble on eleven outfield players instead of playing a goalkeeper. They planned to suffocate Worksop not allowing Worksop out of their half. Notts Uni’s plan seemed to be working for the first twenty minutes putting constant pressure on Worksop, but Worksop dug in and finally got a ball through to Chloe Gilpin, who ran away from the Uni defence to score. Five minutes later, Worksop repeated the trick, and again, with Chloe Gilpin punishing Uni.

Worksop knew Uni would come at them hard in the second half, but Worksop’s defence put in a super human effort to keep Uni out. Uni did finally break through from a scrappy penalty corner, but Worksop refused to buckle, and through Rebecca Steeple sprung the trap, releasing Gilpin again to score her third from an acute angle. Worksop saw out the final minutes to secure a memorable victory. The player of the match went to Worksop goalkeeper Samantha Beighton.
